Work With Us
Tutoring with Alternative Pathways Education is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. By supporting children and young people on their educational journey, you’ll help them build a strong foundation for future success, nurturing their confidence and their ability to thrive academically and beyond. As a tutor, you’ll become a vital part of the local community, providing high-quality, tailored education that complements the national curriculum and empowers children and young people to learn and grow at their own pace.

We provide personalised, one-to-one tuition and in-school support programmes across the Bristol area, and we’re always eager to welcome dedicated, knowledgeable tutors in all subject areas. If you’re passionate about education and committed to helping children and young people reach their full potential, we’d love to hear from you. The role offers flexible working hours to suit your schedule, competitive pay, and the chance to work in a supportive, child and young person-focused environment. You will also have access to training and support to further enhance your knowledge and understanding of the children and young people we support. Please note that this is a self-employed position.

We’re especially keen to hear from educators with experience supporting children and young people with additional learning needs such as dyslexia, ADHD, ASD, or other specific educational requirements such as children and young people with a background of relational trauma.

As we’re a Bristol-based organisation, we are currently only registering tutors who are based in Bristol for in-person tuition.
If you’re ready to join our team and help shape brighter futures, please send a copy of your CV via the 'Contact Us' page and form.
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children and young people we support, all tutors must provide a valid enhanced DBS certificate registered to the Update Service before tutoring can begin. If you don’t currently have one, we can guide you through the application process. If you’ve lived abroad in the last five years, you’ll also need an overseas DBS check. You can still apply without a current DBS, but must be willing to obtain one and register it with the Update Service before completing your onboarding.

We look forward to welcoming compassionate, skilled individuals to our growing team at Alternative Pathways Education.
